Reliance Communications (RCOM) has joined hands with Google to offer bundled 3G data services on Android based smartphones in India.  3G telecom operators in order to enhance the penetration of 3G services have been using mobile handset bundling as a strategy to rein in more subscribers. Apart from tying up with different handset manufacturers like HTC, Samsung, LG etc. , telecom companies have launched bundled schemes with handsets from Huawei and ZTE to make 3G handsets more affordable  Reliance’s tie up with Google offers the company huge opportunity to gain new subscribers as today Android based smartphones form the majority among new handsets. Reliance will now be able to target new customers of Samsung, LG, Sony and HTC etc which are major handset manufacturers  of Android based smartphones.
