Samsung’s Bada bang!

All set to launch the new Bada 2.0 version of the OS with three new phones
Samsung, a leading global mobile brand has announced that it will release is new Bada OS update this year. It is expected to launch three phones running on the new operating system namely Samsung Wave III, Samsung Wave Y and Samsung Wave M. All of these will cater to a different consumer segment depending on the price point. Additionally, consumers using the Bada phones will also be able to upgrade their devices to the new OD by December this year.
Bada 2.0 is expected to bring significant enhancements for the Wave users. It will bring unlimited multitasking, WiFi direct for Peer to Peer (P2P) setup, new and innovative TouchWiz UI for Bada 2.0 and voice recognition. Another feature that the Os offers is the capability of getting push notification, not only for mails but also for software updates and upgrades. It will also be able to support Near Field Communication (NFC) capability.
Music Hub and ChatOn, Samsung’s indigenously developed Music and IM apps will also be available in the new operating system and the users will also get access to 40,000 apps that are currently present on the Samsung App Store. Interestingly with the Bada 2.0 will support operator billing which will allow you to use your phone balance (prepaid) to buy an app instead of using a credit card. For the Postpaid owners the cost will be added in the subsequent bill. Dipesh Amritlal Shah, vice president, Mobile Communication Team, Samsung India said that while the company has tied up with Airtel for operator billing but the service is operator agnostic and will work with any type of connection.
Samsung currently has only two Bada phones in the market but according to company officials the sale of Bada phones is equal to its Android devices.
