MTS and Aircel getting into tablet space?

“Operators have been quite hands on in getting on the tablet race and MTS and Aircel are expected to join the party pretty soon”

Tablets seem to be flavor of the season. Reliance Communications had triggered in a new trend of operator based tablets and it’s expected that Aircel and MTS will be joining the company shortly.
MTS is expected to launch a cost effective Android 2.3.4 based tablet in the month of September. There are also speculations that Aircel will be entering this segment shortly too. Till now the pricing and other details of both these tablets are not known so far.
It is noteworthy that Airtel too is offering its own table - Beetel  MagiQ. Currently it is the cheapest operator based tablet retailing at Rs. 9,999/-. This tablet has Android 2.2 on board and is running on a 1GHz processor.
Reliance’s tablet is a little expensive than Airtel’s Bettel Magiq and is available for Rs. 12,999/-, however, the tablet is also running on the latest Android 2.3.4 as opposed to Android 2.2 on Airtel . It is a 7 inch tablet with 512 MB RAM. (To read the detailed review of Reliance Tablet, please read the forthcoming September Issue of My Mobile.)
It will be interesting to see how the tablet space will work out in Indian market.
