Launches two new ultra low cost handsets, Nokia 101 and Nokia 100 to target its price conscious consumer
Nokia, India’s biggest mobile handset brand, announced the launch of its affordable dual SIM music phone, Nokia 101. The phone is Nokia's fifth dual SIM phone launched in the last few months in the most affordable category. Also at the same time Nokia has also announced the launch of Nokia 100, a single SIM variant in the same price category.
According to the company, these latest offerings are targeted towards the first time users, who are price conscious and seek simplicity in their mobile phones.   "People are looking for a phone that offers simplicity, functional features, durability and great value for money," said Mr. V Ramnath, director sales, Nokia India.
He further added, "When paired with powerful and locally relevant services such as Nokia Life Tools and Nokia Money, the Nokia 101 and Nokia 100 offer a unique experience that is simply unmatched in India at these price points."
With its dual SIM capability, Nokia 101 has integrated MP3 player, FM radio, loudspeaker and expandable memory up to 16 GB.
Both the phones are bundled with attractive offers from Airtel in which customers will get 100 minutes of free Airtel to Airtel talktime for the first month and will also get 400 national and local SMS free every month.
Apart from basic features both the phones also offer Nokia Life Tools and Nokia Money in India, providing instant access to locally-relevant information on healthcare, education, agriculture and entertainment.
The Nokia 101 is priced at Rs 1699 whereas Nokia 100 at Rs 1399 and both phones are expected to hit the Indian market in the month of October this year.
