UCWeb unveils UC 8.0 Browser for mobiles in India

UCWeb 8.0 Browser, compatible to all handsets platforms, targets 100 million users by 2015 in India

UCWeb, a provider of mobile internet software technology and application services unveiled their latest UCWEB 8.0 version for Android in India. The company also announced their strategic expansion in India with the target of 100 million users by 2015. Currently, the company occupies 20 per cent of total internet market share in India and has more than 200 million users worldwide.
“We see great traction in the Indian mobile internet space especially with the increase in mobile penetration in the Indian market. We are quite buoyant about significant opportunities here and are actively looking at partnering with all the leading Indian telecom companies,” said Yu Yongfu, chief executive officer, USWeb.
UCWeb is the world’s first mobile browser that adopts cloud computing framework of server-client hybrid computing. It is capable of compressing mobile internet traffic up to 90 per cent to save user’s cost for the data consumption, as well as to reduce the cost of operators. Based in China, the company has already partnered with over 500 companies in India, including Google, Getjar, Nokia, ebuddy and Nimbuzz to provide end-to-end mobile internet services to local users.
UCWeb 8.0 comes with five performance indices of mobile browsers i.e. speed, intelligence, safety, low energy consumption and expansibility. The browser aims at bringing faster, cheaper, easier and higher efficiency mobile internet experience to local users.
