Nokia has announced the availability of LinkedIn application on its Ovi Store. LinkedIn is the world’s largest professional network with over 100 million members globally and nine million members in India.

The app will now be available to Nokia users, allowing them to send and receive messages from their connections, add new members, accept or decline invitations, browse profiles, search connections, share status updates and do much more, while on the move.
The LinkedIn app can be downloaded free of cost fromhttp://store.ovi.com. Initially available through the Store on the Nokia N8, Nokia E7 and Nokia C6, the application features six modules.
Additionally, the app on the Ovi Store also incorporates a unique speech bubble icon on the top right, allowing users to post status messages that can be synched with the Twitter account.
Hari V. Krishnan, country manager, LinkedIn India, said, “The growing number of professionals in India is a major factor in driving the adoption of mobile phones here to over 600 million users.  Today’s professionals seek connectivity on the go and the availability of LinkedIn for Nokia’s wide range of smartphones provides an apt solution to this demand. Through this application, we will continue to connect talent to opportunity, making professionals productive and successful.”
The app was created using Qt with the LinkedIn Platform, the company’s development toolkit, to allow programmers to access the network from external applications. The Nokia Qt SDK is a single, easy-to-use software developer kit for rapid development, testing and deployment of native applications for millions of Nokia smartphones and mobile computers around the globe.
